We start the character project with a solid block-in. In this video, I build a ZSphere mannequin in ZBrush and match it to the character’s proportions using the see-through slider over the concept. Along the way I pick a base mesh, save a master front view with Timeline keyframes, test the concept’s pose, and rebuild symmetry with Mirror and Weld so the mannequin is ready to guide the ZSpheres. Proportions are the foundation, so in the next video we match the base mesh to this mannequin. ⏱️ Chapters 0:00 Intro and plan for the block-in 0:26 Choosing a base mesh 2:33 Building the ZSphere mannequin 5:14 Matching proportions with see-through 8:29 Timeline keyframes for a master view 9:44 Adjusting the mannequin to the reference 14:30 Posing trick to test the concept’s pose 29:25 Counting rings and evening out the limbs 34:54 Converting to adaptive skin 38:10 Rebuilding symmetry with Mirror and Weld 41:21 Using the mannequin to correct the ZSpheres 48:56 Wrap-up and what’s next 🔗 Links ArtStation: https://www.artstation.com/nicholassi...
