SILENT HILL: Townfall | Episode 2 - THE SIGNAL

Welcome to my full playthrough of SILENT HILL: Townfall. And this one comes with a first for the channel: This will be my first-ever Silent Hill experience. No previous games. No nostalgia. No history with the series. Just me stepping into Silent Hill completely fresh and discovering for the first time why this series has carried such a reputation for psychological horror for decades. This time, Silent Hill takes us somewhere new. Scotland. 1996. The isolated island of St. Amelia. Simon Ordell has been called back to a place from his past to "put things right." The town appears abandoned. Which, naturally, means everything is probably fine. Right? This will be a story-first journey into psychological horror, and this is exactly the kind of game where I want to slow down, look at everything, listen to everything and pay attention to the details the game quietly leaves behind. Because in a world like Silent Hill, the monster standing in front of you isn't always the thing you should be most afraid of. Townfall particularly interests me because of its focus on memory, buried history and whatever connection Simon has to St. Amelia. Add first-person exploration, environmental puzzles and a strange pocket television picking up unstable signals, and we have precisely the sort of situation where investigating something is obviously a terrible idea... so naturally I'm going to investigate it. As always, OBJGaming is a story-first channel before gaming. We’ll explore the environments, piece together the story, examine the symbolism, survive what we can and probably spend an unhealthy amount of time wondering whether something in the distance actually moved. No rushing. No spoilers. No prior Silent Hill knowledge to lean on.
