Lights Out - "Knock at the Door" (Old Time Radio, 1942)

Lights Out presents “Knock at the Door,” originally broadcast December 15, 1942. This was episode 11 of the 1942–43 NBC revival season, written and produced by Arch Oboler and sponsored by Ironized Yeast. In the Kruger family home, Ella’s resentment toward her possessive mother-in-law, Mrs. Kruger, places growing pressure on her marriage to the good-natured Jay. A persistent, unsettling knock soon transforms household tension into an atmosphere of mounting supernatural dread. The story is a retitled revival of Oboler’s 1938 Lights Out episode, “Mother-in-Law.” Old Time Retro Radio presents the original broadcast with a newly produced contextual introduction, a short closing announcement, and gently cleaned/mastered audio for a more consistent listening experience.
