EXCISE DEPARTMENT REPUTATION AT STAKE! ₹20 “COLLECTION” EXPOSED CM MUST ACT NOW

We went to Patradevi Check Post after receiving complaints about alleged ₹20 collections from truck drivers — and what we witnessed raised serious questions. Truck drivers were seen approaching with ₹20, but after noticing the presence of the media, some appeared to turn back after being signalled not to make the payment. What appeared to be routine behaviour suddenly stopped when cameras were present. If this is happening regularly, it is not just about ₹20. It is about accountability, transparency and the reputation of the entire system. We appeal to the Chief Minister of Goa and the concerned authorities to conduct a strict and impartial inquiry into these allegations and take appropriate action if wrongdoing is established. We also strongly request the authorities to install CCTV cameras with audio recording inside and around the Patradevi Check Post, with proper monitoring and preservation of footage, so that every transaction and interaction can be independently verified. ₹20 may be a small amount — but corruption, if proven, is a much bigger issue.
