We’ve Fully Adapted to Life in the Philippines! We Feel Like Filipinos Now!

15 years of coming to the Philippines… but this year, it felt like we were starting our life here all over again ❤️🇵🇭 When we arrived in the Philippines at the beginning of April, I came alone with my three children and our little baby. We moved into a house where we had never lived before, and suddenly everything felt completely new. We had to learn how to manage our everyday life in a Filipino home, take care of three children on my own, deal with ants and mosquitoes, arrange water deliveries, shop for groceries, cook, and simply figure out how to make our new life work. But now, looking back, I realize something beautiful: we adapted. We found our rhythm. We made this place our home 🥰 Our children are going to a local Filipino school, making friends with Filipino boys, and slowly learning Bisaya, Tagalog and English. We absolutely love Filipino food and eat it almost every day. And honestly, I couldn’t be happier with the life we are building here on Samal Island. At the same time, we continue learning something new every single day - especially from Filipinos ❤️ In this video, you’ll see how I learned to prepare a whole jackfruit the Filipino way! One of the most useful tricks I learned is to put oil on the knife and hands to make cutting jackfruit much easier. I’ve also learned so many Filipino cooking techniques that have become part of our everyday life. Thank you so much for your support, your help, your advice and for sharing your knowledge with us.
