On this journey, we explore Bhimtal, Kainchi Dham, and the ancient Katarmal Sun Temple before finally reaching the beautiful hill station of Kausani. ✨ Places Covered in This Journey 📍 Bhimtal – A beautiful lake surrounded by green hills, offering a peaceful start to our mountain journey. 📍 Kainchi Dham – The famous ashram of Neem Karoli Baba, known for its spiritual atmosphere and visitors from around the world. 📍 Katarmal Sun Temple – An ancient temple dedicated to the Sun God, located in the hills near Almora. This historic temple complex dates back to the 9th century and is one of the most remarkable heritage sites in Kumaon. 📍 Kausani – Our final destination, a peaceful Himalayan hill station famous for its panoramic views of snow-covered peaks, including Nanda Devi and Trishul. Known as the *Switzerland of India*, Kausani is a perfect place to slow down, enjoy nature, and experience the beauty of the Himalayas. 🗺️ How to Reach Kausani By Road from Haldwani: Haldwani → Kathgodam → Bhimtal → Bhowali → Kainchi Dham → Almora → Kausani. The exact route may vary depending on the stops you choose. If you are travelling by bike or car, this route offers a wonderful opportunity to explore the Kumaon hills along the way. Distance Guide: Haldwani to Kausani: approximately 140–160 km, depending on the route. Nainital to Kausani: approximately 115–120 km. Kathgodam to Kausani: approximately 135–145 km. By Train: The nearest major railway station is Kathgodam. From there, you can take a taxi, shared vehicle, or bus towards Almora and Kausani. If you want to explore Bhimtal, Kainchi Dham, and Katarmal Sun Temple along the way, plan your local transport accordingly. By Bus or Taxi: You can reach Kathgodam by train and continue towards Kausani by road. Buses and shared taxis may be available towards Almora and onward to Kausani, depending on the departure point and schedule. For sightseeing at multiple stops, a private taxi or your own vehicle offers more flexibility. Distances are approximate.
