Stepping into the soft, squishy mud of the lotus pond, the cool sensation spreads up from the soles of my feet. Following the lotus roots and feeling my way through the mud, the moment my fingertips touch a firm shape, my heart skips a beat. Shoveling away the silt handful by handful, when sections of tender, jade-white lotus root are finally pulled completely out of the water, that sense of accomplishment from “striking gold in the mud” is honestly more satisfying than opening any mystery box! Covered in mud but filled with joy, this is the most authentic way to experience autumn.\ #LotusRootDigging #ImmersiveAutumnHarvest #NatureMysteryBox
