25 Days on the Road With Kids: How We Started the Journey 🇮🇪

Our 25-day family road trip begins a day earlier than planned, with a drive south through Dublin and down the M11 towards Wexford. Starting a long family trip means plenty to think about, but not every day needs to be packed with activities or extra spending. On our first day we keep things simple and stop for a picnic lunch along the way instead of adding another meal out to the holiday budget. We spend the first night at Ferrycarrig in Wexford, with time for a swim, dinner and a chance to relax before the next stage. Tomorrow we head to Rosslare for an overnight stay, and the day after that we board the ferry to Bilbao. It’s a simple start to a much longer trip, and it shows how much of family travel comes down to small, practical decisions that make the journey work for everyone.
