I spent seven days hiking the Tour du Mont Blanc alone.
Over 110 miles through France, Italy and Switzerland, with thousands of metres of climbing and descending I carried everything I needed on my back. I found myself camping most nights, and even managed to do some solo wild camping.
It was one of the most incredible things I've ever done. It was also gruelling at times. The heat was relentless, the climbs were steep, the descents seemed endless, and on some days I had to race against the weather to make it over the mountains before conditions in the Alps changed.
But somewhere between the exhaustion and the views, I found something really special about being out there on my own.
For a long time, I thought I would never have the chance to do a trip like this. So this video is a record of seven days hiking one of Europe's most famous long-distance trails — the people I met, the places I slept, the difficult moments, and the incredible scenery along the way.
If you're planning your own Tour du Mont Blanc, or you're simply interested in long-distance hiking, solo travel and the Alps, I hope you enjoy the journey.
