Wilber/Hallam, NE F4 tornado, May 22, 2004: Real-time reconstruction (7:28:50-8:50:09)

On May 22nd, 2004, exactly 22 years ago today, a tornado outbreak would strike the midwest, primarily in Nebraska and Iowa. The most infamous and most prolific of that day was the F4 that would strike the towns of Wilber and Hallam, Nebraska. Hallam in particular was completely enveloped by the tornado, destroying 95% of the town. The tornado would also swell to 2.5 miles wide, tying with the 1984 Red Springs tornado as the largest single tornado in history. On May 31, 2013, the El Reno tornado would break the record with a width of 2.6 miles. To this day, the Hallam tornado holds the record with the largest visible condensation funnel in history. Note that some elements may not be entirely accurate.
