The Sopranos, Breaking Bad and The Wire Don’t Show the Same Kind of Crime The familiar faces are the entry point; the real subject is the machinery behind them. This video compares "Mafia vs cartel vs Baltimore street organization: three crime systems" and asks why similar criminal ambitions produce different strategies in different worlds. First, we define the fictional systems being compared: Sopranos-style mafia family, BB/BCS cartel/distribution network, Wire street organizations/wholesale layer. Next, we compare membership/loyalty rules and whether affiliation is family/oath, business or territory-based. After that, the essay compares supply-chain position: local retail, regional distribution, upstream cartel/wholesale. We then compare violence as discipline, reputation and market control. Before the conclusion, we compare law-enforcement exposure and how legitimacy/front businesses are used. By the end, the viewer should understand not only what happened, but why the obvious explanation is incomplete. Copyright / Fair Use Notice: This is an independent commentary and criticism video.
