In this dialogue, we explore the nature of African entrepreneurship - the spirit in which it is driven, its strong connection to pro-social outcomes, and the importance of deeply connecting with the intent (Nia), ways of being, and commitment to whole of society advancement in how African entrepreneurs approach their work.
Front-of-mind for many young African entrepreneurs is an understanding that advancing the success of the community, nation, and continent within which they are operating has a direct benefit to advancing the likelihood of success for not only themselves, but for their communities, and for the many other entrepreneurs across the continent.
In Africa, few entrepreneurs are motivated simply by the opportunity for individual success. Africa is a continent where the notion of social entrepreneurship is not an addition to, but is a foundational aspect, of understanding the entrepreneurial landscape. This feels to us a necessary lens in the conversations about entrepreneurship that are accelerating across the continent. For Africa, entrepreneurship is often driven by economic imperative, and innovation is demanded by proximity to the many social issues that are present. This is effectively blurring the boundaries between "business orientated" and "social" entrepreneurship in ways that bear exploring.
We invite you to this listen in to this conversation, encounter some (and these are such a very few) of the truly inspiring entrepreneurs striving to support our shared African future and share your own thoughts and insights on this topic in the comments tab.
Held in partnership with ASENTI Africa, the ASEB Africa, Vanhu Tech, the MCCE International Conference on Lifelong Learning in an age of Post-Globalism and AI, and the Education for Africa Dialogic Summit teams, we seek to collectively amplify, strengthen and grow the strong emerging ecosystem of African Entrepreneurship.
This is a wonderful opportunity to weave connections between various ecosystem partners holding interesting pieces of this narrative and to bring their communities into conversation with one another, for the purpose of
