A 22-year-old Nigerian man has recounted a disturbing ordeal involving his kidney, a trusted friend, money and a series of expensive purchases. In this episode of Mogul Reacts, we discuss the recently reported case of Samuel Ezekiel, who told journalists that his friend allegedly deceived him into undergoing kidney removal in Abuja. According to Ezekiel’s account, after the procedure, his friend allegedly exchanged the payment and bought two phones, two power banks and two Wi-Fi devices, giving one of each to Ezekiel and keeping the other. Ezekiel said they later travelled to Cross River State, spent the remaining money over several months, and eventually had to sell his phone to raise transportation money. The case has emerged alongside a police investigation into an alleged organ-harvesting and human-trafficking network involving several suspects. But beyond the shocking details, this raises much bigger questions: Why are young people becoming vulnerable to situations like this? Is it poverty? Trust in friends? Desperation for money? Lack of financial education? Peer pressure and the desire to “flex”? Or a deeper problem involving exploitation and illegal organ trafficking? In this Mogul Reacts episode, we break down the story and discuss what it says about youth vulnerability, friendship, money, desperation, consumer culture and the dangers of organ trafficking. ⚠️ This video is a discussion of a reported case. Allegations and police investigations should not be treated as established facts until the relevant legal processes are concluded. 💬 What do you think about this case? Could better financial education, stronger awareness and community support help young people avoid dangerous situations like this?
