How the Paris Métro grew from 1900 to 2031, one opening at a time. Every segment appears in the year trains first ran on it. By 2031: 329 stations and 384 km of track across 16 lines. The longest line is Line 14 at about 28 km since its 2024 extensions; the oldest track dates from 1900. Lines are coloured by the line that runs there today. Where another line ran a section first, that section is shown in the earlier line's colour until the handover (for example, Étoile to Place d'Italie was part of Line 5 until Line 6 took it over in 1942).
