Mega Man 2 — Air Man's Stage (Famitracker VRC6)

Getting back to my Mega Man ways because that's what you people like to listen to apparently shakes fist I know Mega Man 2 gets a lot of flak for being "tHe PoPuLaR oNe", but it's got some pretty cool music. The Robot Master themes are all fairly catchy and fun, including Air Man's here. I was always a little skeptical about covering this one because of the crazy arpeggios it does, but they ended up being pretty simple to do. Didn't go too nutty with remixing it (although I did detune it pretty drastically)- I think less is more with a theme like this. Fun fact: the Mega Man games are fairly well-known for having a different lead composer for each entry... but this theme is one of the few times a previous entry's composer came back and helped out with the music! Manami Matsume (Mega Man 1's composer) confirmed in an interview that she assisted with the melody of this theme- so I made sure she got credit for it! I got a lot of inspiration for this cover from Music Test's excellent remix of this song.
