PDB: Live in New York City, NY - May 20, 1986 (First Show?)

PDB performed frequently between late 1985 and May 1986, but recordings of their concerts and few and far between. This one comes from May 20, 1986, (the latter of two consecutive days), when the trio performed at the Lone Star Cafe in Manhattan, New York. The mono tape recording seems to have surfaced in the 2010s, with Goody sharing their pitch-corrected version (which I've used as a template) some time later. I applied a de-crackle tool to get rid of much of the high-end clipping. The concert follows a typical PDB setlist with many Hiram-led tunes, including a great cover of Jimi Hendrix's "Power of Soul." (A newspaper advertisement has no mention of a second show on the same day, so by "early show" they might've instead meant a first set.) Jaco plays decent solos on "Ode to Billie Joe," "Continuum," "I Shot the Sheriff," and "Dolphin Dance," but I prefer his accompaniment. The tour continued two days later in Buffalo, NY, which was captured in the form of an excellent soundboard recording.
