What does everyday life look like for a low-income family in China? 🇨🇳 A few months ago, I lost my job. Now, I’m a 38-year-old unemployed mom living in a small city in China, trying to manage our everyday life on a limited income. In this video, I’m sharing a little glimpse into our ordinary weekend — making a traditional Chinese breakfast with my daughter, shopping for fresh groceries at a local wet market, cooking homemade meals, cleaning the house, and helping my daughter with her homework. I currently receive about 2,100 yuan (around $300) a month in unemployment benefits. With my husband’s income being unstable too, we’re learning to live carefully and make the most of what we have. There’s nothing fancy here, just real food, family moments, and the everyday life of an ordinary family in China.
