Lord I Lift Your Name on High | Stryper Style

Rick Founds wrote this worship classic back in 1989. He was having his morning Scripture and prayer time, sitting with his guitar, when he came across something about the water cycle—water coming down from the sky, moving through the earth, and eventually returning upward. That got him thinking about Jesus. Founds saw a picture of Christ’s entire journey: from heaven to earth, from the cross to the grave, and from the grave back to heaven. From that simple connection came a song with an equally simple message—easy to sing, easy to remember, and hard to forget. Funny how sometimes God can take something as ordinary as a morning with a Bible, a guitar, and a little scientific article…and turn it into a song that ends up being sung by millions of people. Some songs just become part of the soundtrack of your faith.
