The Bonepicker – Follow the Banjo (Official Music Video) | Dark Country

“Follow the Banjo” is the first original dark country song from The Bonepicker—a skull-masked outlaw carrying the music of forgotten roads, nameless graves, and restless souls. Driven by weathered banjo, haunting harmonica, heavy country percussion, and deep raspy male vocals, this gothic Americana ballad tells the legend of a mysterious rider whose music can be heard beyond the last town. Follow the banjo. Follow the flame. But understand one thing: You don’t come back from the Bonepicker’s land. LYRICS They heard six strings by the burial ground, But nobody saw who was making that sound. Black hat low, dust on my coat, Dead man’s prayer caught in my throat. White-eyed shadow by a dying flame, Some call me cursed— Some know my name. I don’t ride for silver, I don’t ride for gold. I collect the secrets That the dead never told. Follow the banjo, follow the flame, Past all the crosses without any names. Follow the banjo, but understand— You don’t come back From the Bonepicker’s land. My black horse drinks where the cold creek bends, I play for sinners with no more friends. Bring me your sorrow, your blood and your blame, I’ll turn it to music And bury the shame. Every road has a shadow, Every soul has a price. You can run from the Devil, But you won’t outrun the night. Follow the banjo, follow the flame, Past all the crosses without any names. Follow the banjo, but understand— You don’t come back From the Bonepicker’s land. When the fire burns blue And the coyotes go still, You’ll hear my strings From the other side of the hill. Follow the banjo, follow the flame, The lost and forgotten all know my name. Follow the banjo, take hold of my hand— Come walk with me Through the Bonepicker’s land. Follow the banjo… And don’t look back. Subscribe for original dark country, gothic Americana, outlaw blues, Southern Gothic storytelling, haunted western music, banjo ballads, and deep raspy vocals.
