Beppu, Japan -Carnival Luminosa 2026 Port Day

Port day on the Carnival Luminosa in Beppu, Japan! 🇯🇵🚢 We stepped off the ship and spent the day exploring some of Beppu’s most unique attractions — the famous Crocodile Hell (Oniyama Jigoku) with its steam-heated crocodile park, the steamy hell baths and geothermal experiences, and the wild Japanese macaques at the monkey sanctuary (Takasakiyama). Beppu is one of Japan’s premier onsen towns, famous for its “hells” (jigoku) — boiling, vividly colored hot springs that you view rather than bathe in, plus actual steam baths and the quirky crocodile farm that uses the natural heat. Then we headed to the monkey park to watch troops of macaques roam freely. Perfect day for cruise passengers with limited time in port!
