Hood5six: Coagulative Necrosis 10/14/2022 Gold Sounds Brooklyn, NY

After another big show at The Monarch, I'm always glad to find myself somewhere cozier for a smaller event, and for this all Grind show, I found myself as Gold Sounds again. Unfortunately Orthopedic Cranial Encavement couldn't make it so their Gore Noise side project Coagulative Necrosis stepped up to fill the opening slot. Made up of two major players in the Grind underworld, with Jackson Kovalchik of Orthopedic Cranial Encavement on bass/vocals, and VII Caso of Scab Addict (pronounced Seven Caso). Both Grinders have been involved in the scene for the longest and been a part of numerous projects, including Escuela in their early days out of Ithaca, NY (well before they became Escuela Grind). Seven was their guitarist early on before they had Jackson and Jason Balthazar (Fed Ash) become their seven-string guitar duo before another lineup change. I have yet to see Orthopedic Cranial Enlargement but this was a great substitute and it was a great honor getting to chat with Seven for a bit. Support everything these two pillars of the Grind community by checking out their projects, Jackson's label Liquid Pathogen, and seeing them perform live. Oh and for those of you who remember that sick blog Operation Grindcore, Seven used to write for them back in the day. Talk about a trip down memory lane. Current and former members of Casas, JHK, Coagulative Necrosis, Escuela Grind, Kudzu, Orthopedic Cranial Encavement, Seepage Of Umbilicated Lesions Caused By Zygomycosis, Hiroshima Vacation, Scab Addict, Water Bears, Stinkmeat, Dripping Face, and probably way more knowing how Grind bois get around.
