In the first episode of the ‘DialogueWithDT’ podcast, we sit down with Neeraj Gutgutia, the founder of Mumbai-based startup ‘Right2Vote’. As the name suggests, the startup, through its Aadhar-driven mobile-based voting platform, seeks to boost voting percentage in Indian elections while bringing down the costs significantly.
Neeraj, a chartered accountant and an IIM (Indore) alumnus, tells us about his motivation behind starting the platform and his fortune out of a failed attempt at getting investors. He breaks down how his platform can cut down the costs of holding a general election in India to less than a tenth of what it costs the government. Neeraj bats for Gen Z, saying that a generation that does everything on mobile – from banking to buying shares to watching movies – does not want to stand in a queue to vote. It is they who will ask for mobile-based voting in India, he says.
