How to knit a thumb gusset with no hole where the thumb meets the hand, for mittens, gloves, and fingerless mitts in any yarn weight. The holes come from the gap at the thumb join; this tutorial closes it in two places: with waste yarn placement and with the pick-up over the cast-on.
