New Life by Carson Cooman, played by Christopher Wicks

I am Christopher Wicks, I am a composer, organist, and pianist, and this is a recording of me playing a piano piece by my friend Carson Cooman. NEW LIFE by Eugene Platt For you created me in my inmost being: you knit me together in my mother’s womb. Psalm 139: 13 Gurgling at your fountain of youth, close to the heart whose beat was once your own, even your coos speak the contentment of a new life impured only by the sins of your fathers; but you bring hope even to them, dear daughter, and yours is like a Second Coming. NEW PRIORITIES May you be filled with joy. --- Colossians 1:11 My preoccupation is no longer empires: I tiptoe in darkness to witness your blanket’s rise and fall. Then, bending over the slats of your crib that remain silent sentries through the night, I become reacquainted with a God I knew in my youth and say a wordless prayer of hope for your future, which is the future of all the world, while listening for the sweetest sound I have ever heard: your breathing.
