How to Defeat Willam Birkin Stage 1 Hardcore (G Stage 1) with Only Ammo Available In the Room Resident Evil 2 Remake After searching and searching with not much luck, I discovered a way to make the William Birkin fight much easier using just the combat knife and ammo/items available in the boss fight. Stage 1 - Collect all items and move close, knife until the eye appears Stage 2 - Same as above, but be prepared to back away when he goes in to hiding and jumps down Stage 3 - Flash grenade and shoot the eye, then frag grenade and shoot if necessary Additional tips: If he manages to grab you in stage 1/2 do NOT use the knife as a survival weapon, instead take the damage and heal up. Save the knife to do additional damage to the boss as ammo is very low if you have not saved it in the police station. When he is in "William" mode, he is pretty much blind and swings freely - stay behind him to avoid most attacks. The more you try and fail at something in Resident Evil 2 Remake the game then begins to make small exceptions for you such as additional ammo, weaker enemies etc. These are only minor, yet vital. Don't give up. Make sure you press "Continue" and not "Load".
