𝗢𝗠𝗜𝗦 𝗤𝟯 𝟮𝟬𝟮𝟲 | 𝗬𝗘𝗔𝗡 𝗦𝘂𝗽𝗽𝗼𝗿𝘁𝘀 𝗜𝗿𝗿𝗶𝗴𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝗠𝗮𝗻𝗮𝗴𝗲𝗺𝗲𝗻𝘁 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗜𝗺𝗽𝗿𝗼𝘃𝗲𝗱 𝗥𝗶𝗰𝗲 𝗬𝗶𝗲𝗹𝗱𝘀 𝗶𝗻 𝗥𝘄𝗮𝗻𝗱𝗮

On 12 October 2026, YEAN participated in the Q3 Progress Report Validation Workshop for the Operation and Management of Irrigation Schemes Project (OMIS), organized with the Rwanda Agriculture and Animal Resources Development Board (RAB) at Rubona Station. In Lot 1, covering Nyamasheke, Nyamagabe, and Rusizi districts, 12 farmers’ cooperatives representing 15,600 farmers across 2,237 hectares are benefiting from improved irrigation management and technical support. Rice yields reached 6.2 tonnes per hectare at Bugarama Irrigation Scheme, exceeding the 6-tonne target. At Mugonero, yields reached 6.2 tonnes/ha for the BL variety and 5.9 tonnes/ha for Fashingabo. Through technical support to farmers and Irrigation Water Users Organizations (IWUOs), YEAN continues to promote good agricultural practices, strengthen irrigation management, and improve agricultural productivity. #YEAN #OMIS #Irrigation #Agriculture
