August 30th, 2026 - Pentecost 14 Jesus Helps THE SUFFERING It’s comforting that Jesus came to help everyone. But it’s important to recognize that Jesus came to help every one. No two people are the same. Their life experiences, their burdens, their worries and opportunities are all unique. Your life is unique. Jesus knows that. His promise to help applies to your unique life. During the month of August we will look at specific times Jesus helped people with unique challenges as a way to remember that Jesus will help you with yours. In this service, we conclude our August series by considering a curious aspect of the Christian life – the joy we find in sharing in the sufferings of Christ. Both the Apostles Paul and Peter remarked how blessed we are when we participate in the types of sufferings Christ endured. Why? Because our times of suffering bring us closer to Christ and the comfort and strength we can only find in him.
