How did the Mongols conquer so much of the known world — and why were they so difficult to defeat? Their armies moved at incredible speed, used mounted archers and clever battlefield tactics, gathered intelligence, and learned to overcome challenges that would have stopped other armies. But their success wasn't simply about horses or weapons. In this video, we explore how Mongol commanders used feigned retreats, coordinated cavalry, military organization, intelligence, siege technology, and psychological warfare to outmaneuver their enemies. We'll follow their expansion across Eurasia, look at the 1241 campaign into Europe, and discover how the Mamluks defeated a Mongol force at the Battle of Ain Jalut in 1260. Because here's the surprising part: the Mongols were not invincible. Their greatest advantage came from combining several strengths and adapting to the enemies they faced. So what really made them so difficult to stop? And what finally brought their advances to a halt?
