This Makes ANY Photo Look Vintage 👀 | Faux Mica + Vintage Slides Tutorial 🤗

Hi my lovelies! 🤗💛 This week we're making vintage-inspired mica slides and turning them into a beautiful interactive page edge for our Love Letters & Lace journal. 🥰 Quick note on the faux mica: I realised after filming that the refills I’ve been using in my pads are Distress Ink, not Distress Oxide. That explains why the colour stayed consistent when I added water. Either should work, but Distress Ink would be my preference if you want that transparent, stained mica look. ❤️ Three of the slides are completely see-through, with lace, flowers and little scraps suspended between the layers, and one holds a photograph on each side. If you don't have real mica, don't worry! I'll also show you how I make faux mica using acetate or thin plexiglass/perspex, so you can get a very similar aged, cloudy look with materials that are much easier to find. We'll make the slides from a mix of papers and scraps, fill and decorate them, then attach them down the side of the page to create this layered edge. You could also use the slides on journal covers, tucked into pockets, as dangles, or as individual embellishments.
