What happened to PvP in Dune Awakening? The game has the foundation for an incredible PvPvE endgame, but many of the systems that once encouraged players and guilds to fight have disappeared or become less relevant. In this video, I break down the current state of PvP in Dune Awakening, how the PvP meta has changed, the problems with the PvP Deep Desert, Specialization XP, the loss of meaningful PvP objectives, and what I think Funcom could do to bring this side of the game back to life. PvE players shouldn't have to become content for PvP players just because they want to farm, but PvP players also need meaningful systems that bring them together. Give us objectives worth fighting over. Give guilds reasons to compete. Create world PvP events in the Deep Desert. Bring back meaningful Control Points. Give us an Arena or Battleground where players who want to PvP can reliably find other players who want the same thing. Dune Awakening already has the combat, vehicles, guilds, massive environments, gear progression, and risk-versus-reward foundation. The question is whether Funcom can turn those systems into a meaningful long-term PvP endgame. What do you think? Would an Arena or Battleground system get you into PvP? Would large-scale Deep Desert events give guilds something worth fighting over? And if you don't currently PvP, what would Funcom have to change to make you try it? Let me know in the comments.
