Union Pacific Coast-to-Coast America 250 Tour, The Final Days! Big Boy 4014 In Colorado July 2026!

READ: Hello once again viewers! Join us as we chase the 4014 on the last two operating days of the 7,145.48 mile Coast-to-Coast tour. In this video, we will pick the engine up in Sharon Springs, Kansas and follow it all the way back to Cheyenne, Wyoming via Denver, Colorado. Having dropped the majority of the passenger cars and the 1616 back in Missouri, the train now consists of the same America 250-themed boxcars that it started east out of Cheyenne with all the way back on Memorial Day. Including the diesel and water cars, the train weighs in at approximately 1,300 tons, and at no point did I hear the diesel providing any sort of tractive assistance to the Big Boy. As a note, the majority of the territory covered here consists of sustained ~1% adverse grade.
