In January 1492, Granada fell. For centuries, the Nasrid dynasty ruled the last Muslim-ruled kingdom in Iberia from Granada. Then, after a months-long siege, the city faced hunger, negotiations, and the final end of Nasrid political rule. This is the story of the fall of Granada — told through the places that still remain. From the walls of the Alhambra to the streets of the Albaicín, from the mountain routes that supplied the city to the gardens and water systems of the Nasrid world, this film follows the final days of Granada and the physical landmarks that preserve its memory. On 25 November 1491, the capitulations were agreed. On 2 January 1492, Castilian forces entered Granada, bringing Nasrid rule to an end. But the city remained. The Alhambra still rises above Granada.
