TORGODO : A COMMUNITY TRAPPED BETWEEN BAD ROADS, A RIVER AND A BETTER FUTURE In Torgodo, a quiet farming community in the Yilo Krobo Municipality of the Eastern Region, the River Ponpong should be a blessing - to water the farms and sustain life. But rather, it has become a barrier. With no accessible road and only a fragile wooden bridge strung across the river, every crossing is a risk. Getting to school is a struggle. Getting to market is a struggle. Getting to a clinic, getting help in an emergency - a struggle. When it rains, the river swells. When it swells, the bridge disappears. And when the bridge disappears, Torgodo is cut off. This is the story of a community living on the edge of a river - and on the edge of access.
