The Bible uses the metaphor of clay and the potter to teach human humility, God's absolute authority as Creator, and His ability to reshape us when we fail. Clay primarily represents humanity's frailty, God's absolute sovereignty as the Creator, and human dependence on divine shaping. As humans we need to have humbleness so as a CLAY we can be softer to be used. Hard clay breaks off but soft clay can mold easily. Imagine the hand of The Creator is shaping us with His gracious Hand and making us beautiful vessels to use for His supreme Glory. His magnificent art work. When we are in His hand as He is spring living water we never get dry so we don’t need to be worried about breaking because of dryness. Similarly He gets a chance to mold us uniquely in His splendour each movement passes by one glory to another glory.
