Cliff Huxtable is cooking again. The kids know the "smells great" trick, they've fallen for it before, and they are not hungry. Cliff calls them down anyway. Then Rudy looks in the pot and asks what that is. It's a cow's tongue. Cliff insists he's only using it for flavoring, but Rudy has already made her position clear: she doesn't want to taste anything that can taste her. Vanessa thinks she sees an eye (it's a mushroom). Theo is told to be a man and dig in, and finds something that looks like a heart (it's a vegetable root). Denise is reminded that she was allergic to lima beans as a little girl — good thing there are none in here. Sondra, home from college, has no complaints at all, because after enough dorm food you'll eat anything home-cooked. And Cliff announces the house rule: the last one to finish eats the cow's tongue. Later that night, Clair is up at 2 a.m. in her pajamas, preparing to go up against Mr. Wilson, a man who has been taken to court twice and walked away both times.
