My reaction to North by Northwest! I absolutely loved this movie. North by Northwest is everything I hoped a classic Hitchcock thriller would be - clever, suspenseful, funny, stylish, and endlessly entertaining. It had me hooked from the opening act, and by the end I couldn't wait to dive even deeper into Alfred Hitchcock's filmography. Directed by Alfred Hitchcock and starring Cary Grant, Eva Marie Saint, James Mason, and Martin Landau, North by Northwest follows advertising executive Roger Thornhill after he's mistaken for a government agent and thrust into a dangerous game of espionage. What follows is an unforgettable adventure filled with mistaken identity, memorable set pieces, and nonstop suspense. It's easy to see why this film is considered one of Hitchcock's greatest achievements. Cary Grant is effortlessly charismatic, the pacing never lets up, and the blend of mystery, romance, action, and humour makes the story feel just as engaging today as it must have been in 1959. From the iconic crop-duster sequence to the thrilling finale at Mount Rushmore, the movie is packed with moments that have influenced countless films that followed. After watching North by Northwest, I completely understand why Alfred Hitchcock is regarded as one of the greatest directors of all time.
