I WAS ONLY JOKING

I WAS ONLY JOKING | A.K.O.T.S. — Kingdom Over the Streets “I was only joking.” Sometimes those words come after the damage has already been done. Inspired by Proverbs 26:18–19, I WAS ONLY JOKING is a raw Christian hip-hop track about deception, manipulation, harmful words, and the excuses we use when truth finally catches up with our behavior. Scripture compares a person who deceives someone and then says, “I was only joking,” to someone recklessly throwing firebrands, arrows, and death. That is a serious picture. This song doesn’t soften that warning. You threw the fire—then blamed the smoke. You caused the wound—then called it a joke. But this song isn't about destroying the person. It’s about destroying the lie. Because conviction still leaves the door open for change. You can stop. You can tell the truth. You can own what you did. You can make things right where possible. You can repent. You can change your ways. You can walk in truth. And remember: TRUTH DON’T NEED THAT MUCH MAINTENANCE. A lie needs another story to protect the first story. Truth can simply remain true. So before saying, “Relax, I was only joking…” Ask one question: Were they laughing? 🎵 I WAS ONLY JOKING A.K.O.T.S. | Kingdom Over the Streets 📖 Proverbs 26:18–19 Don’t explain it. Don’t rename it. Don’t laugh it away. Own it. Change it. And walk in truth. The Word on Wheels. Kingdom Over the Streets.
