Hnízdí většinou dvakrát do roka.

The White-throated dipper (Cinclus cinclus) is unique compared to other songbirds in that it has perfectly adapted to the aquatic environment. It often wades in shallow water, and in deeper places it dives completely. It holds on to stones with its sharp claws and uses its wings to help it. Its feathers are lubricated with sebum from the coccygeal gland, which is why it does not get wet. When it emerges from the water, the water runs off the oily feathers and the body remains completely dry. Pairs live year-round in their chosen territory. They usually nest twice a year. The nest is near water, often under bridges, in holes in the ground or among roots under the bank. The nest is shaped like a large closed ball with a side entrance hole. The outer part is mainly made of moss, the inner part is made of stems, leaves and roots. The female sits on 4-6 eggs for 15-17 days, the male feeds her. The young are fed by both parents for 20-24 days in the nest. They feed mainly on small aquatic invertebrates, such as larvae of caddisflies, mayflies and damselflies.
