Spiritual transformation begins when God’s truth changes how you see and respond to life. Apostle Joshua Selman teaches how salvation, spiritual understanding and renewed thinking lead to freedom.
In this Koinonia message, Apostle Joshua Selman connects the experience of Christian liberty to three things: receiving Jesus Christ, coming to know the truth and allowing that truth to transform you from within. He distinguishes the new birth from the ongoing work of renewal. A believer can sincerely follow Christ and still need to examine beliefs and habits that shape everyday choices.
The teaching explores how people gain access to truth through Scripture, the Holy Spirit and sound biblical teaching. It also explains why exposure to truth alone can leave a person unchanged. The scribes and Pharisees had access to Scripture, yet their response to Jesus shows why receiving truth calls for humility and a willingness to reconsider what you already believe.
Drawing on 2 Corinthians 10, Apostle Joshua Selman describes transformation as a process of pulling down entrenched ideas and bringing thoughts into obedience to Christ. David’s response to Goliath illustrates how a different understanding can change your response to the same visible problem. Abraham’s journey offers another example of God’s word reshaping how a person understands what lies ahead.
The message applies these ideas to daily life. How do you respond to correction? What happens when pride makes a lesson hard to receive? Where might a familiar way of thinking be shaping the choices you keep making? The teaching encourages believers to take responsibility for learning and to practise the truth they receive.
As you watch, consider:
• What is the relationship between salvation and the ongoing experience of freedom?
• How can Scripture, the Holy Spirit and sound teaching help me grow in understanding?
• Which belief or habit do I need to bring into line with God’s Word?
• What can David’s response to Goliath teach me about how I interpret a challenge?
• Where do I need the humility to listen, learn and put what I hear into practice?
The service closes with prayer for greater spiritual understanding and the discipline to cooperate with God’s work of transformation. It also includes an invitation to receive Jesus Christ.
