Obi-Wan, Yoda and Owen Lied to Luke. Here's the Proof.

Every good man in Luke Skywalker's life lied to him. The one who finally told him the truth was the man who had just cut off his hand. Today I put them all on trial: his uncle, his teacher, the greatest Jedi Master alive, and the man in the black mask. Every charge needs proof, and the proof comes out of their own mouths, in the films. I'm counting every lie and every secret along the way. If Ben had told Luke the truth on that first day on Tatooine, would he have gone to Dagobah, or gone looking for his father? Tell me in the comments.
