A brief glimpse of one of the most traditionally founded churches in Thiruvananthapuram (Trivandrum) Kerala, Southern India. The church was consecrated in 1859.
The Church is an elegant building, built in the Gothic style which reflects a typical traditional English village church. Its beautiful stained glass windows portray "The Good Shepherd". The windows on the walls depict the twelve disciples (and their symbols) and others associated with the life of Jesus. The antique furnishings include the Pulpit, the Altar, the Lectern, the brass altar railings, and a beautiful carved teakwood screen.
In comparision with UK churches, CSI Christ Church is always packed to capacity. Their choir is a delight to hear and the congregation is welcoming and enthusiastic. "eagervision" was at the Malayalam service (there are services also in English, Tamil and Hindi) - but Dave's enjoys the additional opportunity of being able to learn Malayalam - the official language of Kerala. This "eagervision", whilst short, manages to capture the sense of fun everyone enjoys whilst praising "Our Lord".
