Desertas Islands - Madeira Portugal

Highlights from our trip to the Desertas Islands, on board the Ventura do Mar - booked through Madeira Happy Tours. We were very blessed to see the Monk Seal as they decided to visit the Northern part of the Island. Their southern breeding ground is restricted, so this was a very rare and special event that they decided to swim up to the North and say HELLO! The Desertas trip is approximately 3 hours from Funchal and well worth the trip. Jorge (Captain/Owner) of the Ventura do Mar was an outstanding host and his wife Anna prepared a delicious lunch (included in trip). One of the BEST adventures EVER!
