I will make no apologies for the immense noise & jet blasted footage from Asia's answer to the infamous St Maarten Airport. Although less variety in traffic I'm yet to find anywhere quite as close up as this, the camera lens was barely wide enough to fit an A320 with no zoom. That coupled with stunning beachy scenes, hot sunshine & such close proximity to the runway it made for a real sceptical.
An excellent morning spent at Boracay's main gateway Airport, Boracay-Caticlan Airport (aka Godofredo P. Ramos Airport) where some of the finest runway views can be enjoyed. It is really an Airbus A320 hub, with those from Cebu Pacific, Air Asia & Philippines Airlines operate regular shuttles from nearby major hubs like Cebu, Angeles City & Manila among some other niche destinations. I had limited time to spend so opted for the busier morning rush, however the afternoon see's a couple of ATR 72s & Dash 8s visit I am led to believe.
I did find security to be quite rude. On arrival I asked if I could spot from the road around the turn pad, this area is shut to road traffic during movements so they said to move to one of several handily dumped 'earth mounds' situated on the parallel dirt road following the runway. However after a few hours a local was sent from security to send me packing, apparently this area had since become "private & restricted", I checked back in with the chap who now apparently spoke no English, which was quite the contrary to the morning greetings I had some hours prior - never mind, beach it was.
I spent the remainder of my time on the beach, dipping into the sea to cool off between movements and enjoying the extreme winds and jet fuel smells with each movement.
