*MYSTERY OF DWARKA — Shree Krishna Ki Lost City* Was Dwarka, the legendary city associated with Shree Krishna, actually submerged beneath the Arabian Sea? Ancient Indian texts and religious traditions describe Dwarka as a magnificent and prosperous city established by Krishna after leaving Mathura. According to traditional accounts, the city eventually disappeared beneath the sea. But there is another side to the story. Archaeological investigations along the Gujarat coast and around the Dwarka–Bet Dwarka region have documented underwater remains, stone structures, anchors, and other evidence of ancient maritime activity. These discoveries have raised an intriguing question: could the archaeological remains beneath the sea preserve the memory of an ancient coastal settlement connected in some way to the legendary story of Dwarka? In this documentary, we explore the journey of Krishna—from his childhood in Gokul and Vrindavan, to the fall of Kansa, the conflicts with Jarasandha, the establishment of Dwarka, the Mahabharata and the Kurukshetra war, and finally the traditional account of Krishna's departure from the earthly world. We then turn to the mystery beneath the sea. What do the underwater archaeological discoveries actually tell us? Can they be identified as the Dwarka described in the Mahabharata? Or could the legend preserve memories of one or more ancient coastal settlements whose history has been lost over time? One important distinction must be kept in mind: religious traditions, literary accounts, and archaeological evidence are not the same thing. The existence of underwater archaeological remains does not, by itself, prove that they are the exact city of Krishna described in traditional texts. Dating, archaeological context, and interpretation remain essential to understanding the evidence. Thousands of years of tradition. A legendary city. An ancient coastline.
