Compare the best year and the worst year, not the monthly premium. Ruth and Dale are examples, not real people.

FIGURES USED (they change every year; check the official pages)
2026 Part B deductible: $283. 2026 Part A deductible: $1,736 per benefit period. After the deductible you generally pay 20% of covered Part B services (Medicare.gov).
Medicare Advantage yearly in-network ceiling: $9,250 in 2026 (CMS). Next year's figure: $9,850 for 2027, as reported from CMS's final 2027 Part C limits (April 2026); your plan's own limit may be lower, so check its 2027 Evidence of Coverage.
High-deductible Plan G: you pay up to $2,950 in 2026 before the policy pays (Medicare.gov).
Plan N: copays of up to $20 for some office visits and up to $50 for ER visits when you're not admitted (Medicare.gov).
KFF: about 74% (20.9 million) of people in Medicare Advantage for the full year in 2023 had a condition that could lead to a Medigap denial; 88% of those 85 and older.
Medigap guaranteed-issue windows: 6-month Medigap Open Enrollment; trial right in your first 12 months of Advantage if you joined when first eligible; 60 days before to 63 days after your Advantage coverage ends if the plan leaves (Medicare, "Choosing a Medigap Policy").
The Ruth and Dale numbers (a $200 Plan G premium, $300 of copays, a $90 high-deductible premium) are examples, not quotes. Your quotes will differ.
