I'm ASCII DEN, the creator behind VibeDen, my virtual band in development. What happens when a virtual bassist follows a bass part I actually wrote? I exported the song audio and bass MIDI from the same Cubase project, then gave the MIDI to the system I developed with Astra through Codex. The program plans the playing motion and generates animation keys. I do not manually pose every note for each new song. The MIDI controls the performance; the exported song is the sound you hear. It is not audio generated by simulated strings. Keeping the audio and MIDI on the same song-time origin is how I align the performance in Unreal Engine's Level Sequencer. This episode shows the real interface, actual source-code excerpts, fret selection, wrist corrections, alternating index/middle plucking, and layering the playing hands over body animation. The one-minute test performance appears at both the beginning and the end of the full episode. My development spend has passed US$2,000. That is my own project history, not a product price or a development quote. This is still a prototype calibrated for this character and this bass. Some finger positions and movements look awkward; I plan to improve them in an upcoming update. Production notes: English narration is a locally generated synthetic voice, not my recorded or cloned voice. The export/timeline diagrams explain the workflow; they are not recordings of my Cubase session. Some close-ups are labeled slow-motion replays. The full-song test recording predates the final idle-finger curl refinement shown in the close-ups. NEXT: OUTFITS For future outfits, I plan to try Seedance 2.5 to change their appearance through video editing, instead of building clothes in Marvelous Designer. This is a future experiment, not how the current test was made.
