Players select from 16 national teams and engage in matches using an 8-way joystick and three primary action buttons on standard arcade cabinets. Controls focus on direct passing, shooting, tackling, and movement, remaining approachable for quick coin-op sessions while supporting precise timing and positioning. The angled camera view presents a large, readable pitch with clearly visible polygonal players in bright kits and a distinct ball that aids tracking during play.Sprinting and speed are very important elements in this game. Players rely heavily on acceleration, maintaining pace with the ball, and using bursts of speed to create separation, beat defenders on the wings, or recover position quickly. Fast breaks and exploiting open space through rapid runs form a core part of effective attacking play alongside passing options. Defensive recovery also demands strong sprinting to close gaps and chase down loose balls. Shots require proper angle, timing, and preparation to succeed consistently, while defensive efforts center on closing space and executing timed challenges. This creates tactical depth within an arcade format, balancing immediate accessibility, speed-based plays, and satisfying decision-making in head-to-head or single-player runs on original hardware. The game features a dedicated Play Evaluation System. Specific skillful maneuvers executed throughout a match increase the point total. Successfully performing actions such as nice passes, nice defense, fine saves, and other complex or well-timed plays results in the immediate addition of evaluation points. Conversely, failed executions or negative actions can result in point deductions. These evaluation points operate alongside the goals scored and contribute to the overall performance tally. The final score comes from the cumulative total across the tournament run. After completing the main competition without losing (no continues), a bonus "HERE COMES A STRANGER!" match unlocks against one of the powerful exaggerated teams (Fatmen Silver/Gold or Tallmen Silver/Gold). The score from this bonus match is added directly to the player's overall points tally for high-score purposes. The game also includes a wide variety of special techniques such as one-two passes, heel lifts, step-over dashes, loops, killer passes, long kicks, feints, kick blocks, direct plays when the ball is loose, and various tactical formations that can be switched mid-match.
