Broken Rim Last Year | 5th Place M55+ this Year | UCI Gravel World Series Poland, Gravel Adventure

Last year, my race ended with a broken rim and a DNF. This year, the goal was simple: finish the race without mechanical issues and see what was possible. Despite heavy rain the day before, the course was in surprisingly good condition and incredibly fast. The Gravel Adventure Poland in Szklarska Poreba - Jakuszyce couldn't have been more different from the Gravel race in Velden (Austria): a much smaller field, almost no opportunities to benefit from drafting, endless climbing and descending, MTB-style downhills, and very little time to recover over 120 km and 2,400 m of elevation gain. Fueled by 600 g of carbs, I managed to hold a strong pace all the way to the finish and secured 5th place in the M55+ category. Unfortunately, I missed qualification by just one place, but I'm very happy with my performance and the way I paced the race from start to finish.
