Fragile Images - Northern Limpopo Rock Art

Set in the lush mountain landscapes and the bushveld of northern Limpopo Province, are some of South Africa's most priceless art treasures - the rock art of Bushmen, Khoekhoe and Northern Sotho peoples. This 40-minute video is an introduction to the engraved and painted images found in some of the many hundreds of rock shelters in the region. The late Ed Eastwood was a rock art researcher who lived in the Soutpansberg, he has located about 800 rock art sites previously unknown to the archaeological discipline. He qualified as a zoologist at the University of the Witwatersrand, then worked at the South African Institute for Medical Research and the South African Museum as an arachnologist.
