Apollo Chamber Players presents 'A Mouthful of Universe' by acclaimed Indian Classical composer and musician Chitravina N. Ravikiran. This is the 12th work of Apollo's multicultural, multi-year commissioning project, 20x2020. World Premiere at Zilkha Hall, The Hobby Center for the Performing Arts, Houston (TX), October 7, 2017. Note by composer: A Mouthful of Universe (20x2020 No.12a): A melharmonic arrangement based on a short piece, Udajagopa sundara by one of India's greatest composers, Oottukkadu Venkata Kavi (1700-65), set in raga Umabharanam. Ravikiran has laced it with preludes inspired by Venkata Kavi's equally luminous contemporary, Johann Sebastian Bach as well as the colorful Gustav Holst. Apollo Chamber Players Matthew J.
